We are looking for folks to live and work on our property in Azalea, OR.
We have an A-frame for hearty souls (no electricity) but generator available, running water, including an on-demand propane water heater, an outdoor shower and bathtub, a fully equipped kitchen, including a propane fridge and cookstove.
And of course an outhouse : )
We are looking for reliable and responsible individuals who have "been around the barn a few times", know at least a bit about auto mechanics, basic irrigation/water supply systems, plumbing, basic forestry (these are a MUST), organic gardening, animal care, and a handyman for any imaginable, or even unimaginable, circumstances.
In other words, everything you need to know for a self-sufficient lifestyle out in the boonies.
We pay $15/hr, rent-work trade.
The workload varies seasonally, so some outside source of income is advisable.
The A-frame, partially furnished, rents for $475/mo.
Job benefits? You would live in a beautiful valley surrounded by the Umpqua National Forest, with access to plenty of trails for hiking, mountain biking, nearby creeks and rivers, swimming holes, a large reservoir, and a large organic vegetable garden with more than enough to share, but needs some work initially.
What more could you want?
This position is ideal for self-motivated, nature-loving individuals with some independent income who don't mind solitude, and who are ready for a long term commitment.
