I am selling my 2004 Automatic transmission V6 4.
0L Wrangler.
To my knowledge I am the third owner of the car and I have been driving it since 2016.
This is a fun and flashy ride as it is painted in an ever eye-catching coat of Electric Lime, a limited edition color by Chrysler unique to 2004 TJs.
This car has not been used as an off-road vehicle but certainly is no mall crawler, as it has spent countless hours exploring the winding and often ill-maintained roads of our nation’s public land system.
Buying this vehicle doesn’t just get you a car, it also gets you access to far off locations that RV campers and city slicker glampers dare not set tread.
You also get the added perk of getting to point and laugh at people in giant trucks who are limited to getting where they’re going at a painfully slow crawl while you zip around the woods like a will-o-the-wisp! That being said, this is a 20 year old car and it has its quirks (It’s a Jeep thing).
1) The doors have PERSONALITY! :D The driver side door may only be locked from the outside, which requires the key so the upside is you never have to worry about locking yourself out of the car! The passenger side door cannot be opened from the outside, which has the upside of people not being able to get into the car unless the driver wants them to! If you’re cool, none of this is an issue because you’re going to take those doors off anyway.
2) The A/C pump needs replaced and the HVAC system is currently limited the defrost setting, but that’s really all you need and the heater kicks ass.
You’ll never have to worry about being cold in winter.
3) I replaced the original radio so I could listen to music with an AUX cord.
It does not pick radio signal as I would have had to purchase a conversion kit and I personally don’t listen to radio.
I’m also not selling a radio, I’m selling a car and at this point I’m sure you’d want a newer radio in it anyway because the one currently installed doesn’t do Bluetooth.
The radio installed was designed to go on a boat so it’s able to take some water if you’re to get caught in the rain with your top off.
The radio is missing the cover that goes around it because I cracked it swatting at a fly.
Any radio install kit you purchase should come with one.
4) The first thing I did when I got this car was take out the backseat.
The backseat is available if you are willing to pay for shipping, but it is in Indiana so I doubt you’ll want to do that.
Being able to use it like a little truck bed has been great.
5) There is small dent on the top of the hood that I imagine would pop out if given some attention, but I don’t ever notice it so haven’t done anything about it.
Other than that, there are a few chips in the paint here and there but nothing more than can reasonably be expected from a 20 year old car.
Feel free to text or call show contact info ‬ with any questions or with your best offer (NO TRADE).
