Rare SCHREINER’S RUFFLE PENDANT BROOCH Highly Collectible Versatile in design, it can be used as a pendant and a brooch.
Featuring Marquise shaped beige beads layered and individually pronged set.
The centerpiece is a raised oval-shaped stone, surrounded with smaller stones individual pronged placed below are Topaz colored irridescent rhinestones.
Please note that there is one missing Marquise shaped beige beads ( see photos ) Only pieces made for department stores were stamped "Schreiner" or "Schreiner New York".
Jewelry made for the fashion houses was not signed like this one.
Even without the maker's mark, many Schreiner pieces can be identified because of their distinctive style, elaborate designs, and high-quality of materials.
Schreiner brooches and pins have a three-dimensional quality because the pieces were built up of multiple layers.
German-born jewelry designer Henry Schreiner started his jewelry business in 1939, though until 1951 his creations had no markings, making them very difficult to identify.
His designs were never mass produced, and were always meticulously crafted by hand in New York.
