SUMMARY
The Human Resources Associate reports directly to the Director of Human Resources and is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating employee engagement and recognition activities and the employee evaluation process.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule and perform onboard process for new employees.
Schedule interviews in collaboration with HR Department and hiring department.
Monitor and track employee evaluation process.
Process employee changes received such as new hire, job change, and rate increases.
Manage documentation of departmental processes and polices as provide by the Human Resources department and Director.
Assist in coordinative activities for annual open enrollment.
Assist with pre-employment process by communicating pre-employment documents, coordinating pre-employment drug screening, and fingerprinting.
Assist as committee representative in the design, development, implementation of employee recognition programs and employee relation activities.
Maintain electronic and manual filing systems accurately and confidentially.
Compile data and prepare reports as requested by Director of Human Resources.
Update information in the Human Resources Information System as needed.
Create and distribute oral and written communications independently as directed.
Communicate effectively with employees on behalf of the Human Resources Department.
Assist and advise Director of Human Resources about Human Resources issues.
Maintain Human Resource compliance to regulatory standards; comply with all Tribal and Federal legal requirements.
Maintain appearance standards and good attendance record as outlined in departmental policies.
Other duties as directed by management.

LEVEL OF AUTHORITY & RESTRICTIONS
Not a supervisory position.
WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT
Must be willing to travel out of town as needed.
Moderate noise level with frequent interruptions and distractions.

Experience and Skills:
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must be 25 yrs.
of age or older per vehicle use policy.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to be insured to drive Tribal Government vehicles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum two (2) years’ office experience working in Human Resources, Public Relations, or related discipline; or an Associate’s degree in a related field of study.
Experience consistent with excellent computer skills using Microsoft products including Excel, Outlook and Word.
Experience consistent with data entry, scheduling, and record keeping.
Preferred experience working in a fast-paced, diverse environment where team work is essential.
Experience consistent with handling high level of confidentiality.
Excellent organizational skills.
This position is subject to pre-employment drug testing.
This is a Covered position which requires background check that includes fingerprinting.
Must have employment eligibility in the U.
S.
