Legal Assistant

Legal Assistant We are looking for a self motivated Legal Assistant to provide effective case management in our Coos Bay, Oregon office.
Family Law and Criminal Defense experience is preferred.
You will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an attorney.
Salary will be based on years of experience and modification of the range provided will be considered.
*Responsibilities* * Case management, including supporting the attorneys in maintaining and organizing files, drafting documents, and assisting with a wide range of legal tasks, and projects * The ability to work independently as well as part of a team * Handle communication with clients, witnesses, and outside agencies * Locate and develop case relevant information * Type up and electronically file basic legal documents and correspondence * May occasionally answer and direct phone calls to other attorneys and staff in Ashland and Eugene offices * Maintain contact lists * Monitor deadlines and maintain calendars * Ability to vigorously maintain standards in dealing with confidential information * Other assignments as needed * Some travel to our Eugene office may occasionally be necessary.
*Skills* * Proven working experience as legal assistant or legal secretary * Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and court system * Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office * Computer literacy * Proficiency in English * Excellent secretarial and organizational skills * Ability to handle multiple activities and work under pressure Job Type: Full-time Pay: $45,000.
00 - $65,000.
