_ *DEFINITION* Depending upon specific assignment, performs routine duties and those duties associated with data entry, customer assistance and court proceedings.
Work follows standardized procedures and may be routine or repetitive.
*SUPERVISION RECEIVED* Works under the general supervision of the Finance Director or other designated administrative staff.
*SUPERVISION EXERCISED* Supervision of employees is not a normal responsibility of positions in this class.

_ _The following information is not all-inclusive.
_ * Processes citations issued by the Police Department which can include counting, docketing, data and filing for court date.
* Prepares reports and files with appropriate agency including a monthly report on cases filed and heard by the court and a monthly report of fine assessments.
* Issues warrants for arrest.
* Answers inquiries from law enforcement officers, attorneys, court-related personnel and the public in person, over the telephone or in writing pertaining to citations, court dates, non-payment of fines, postponements, jury duty, request for records and related court matters.
* Cash handling and daily reconciliation.
*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES* * Some knowledge of standard accounting/bookkeeping principles, practices and techniques.
* Reasonable knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.
* Ability to perform detailed work involving numerical data.
* Ability to prepare fiscal, financial and statistical records and reports.
* Ability to operate standard office machinery including personal computer and terminal, 10-key adding machine, typewriter and calculator.
* Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
* Ability to courteously meet and deal effectively with other employees, agency representatives and the public.
* Ability to train personnel.
* Ability to work independently and schedule time to meet deadlines.
* Ability to work with interrupted workflow and multiple distractions.

*EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE* _Education and experience requirements listed are minimum standards.
Other equivalent combinations of education, certifications, training, and experience may be considered.
_ Education: Graduation from high school or the equivalent GED certificate.
Experience: Two years of experience in general clerical work, municipal court or related work.
Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which insures the ability to perform the work may substitute for the above.
