Manages complaints and inquiries from public, provides information regarding Code Enforcement program and policies.
Receives, reviews, and acknowledges code compliance complaints and referrals.
Assigns complaints and investigations to Deputy Code Enforcement Officers and monitors progress and oversees any enforcement action required.

Interprets nuisance abatement and abandoned vehicles in the County Right of way, land use zoning regulations/statutes, and environmental health regulations as they pertain to related enforcement activities.
Provides information on these regulations to the general public and other agencies in oral and written form.
Works with other organizations and agencies to develop information regarding abatement resources for property owners.

Meets with alleged ordinance violators in attempts to achieve compliance.
Consistent with County policy for receiving complaints, responds to citizen complaints about violations.
Serves as contact person between the County, departments, and concerned parties in an attempt to resolve complaints.
Works with responsible parties to develop abatement plans.
Monitors progress of abatement by responsible parties.
Participates in community meetings, and professional groups, task forces and committees as necessary.

Performs field investigations and inspection duties to assist in the development of effective code enforcement programs for compliance with State and County requirements.

Prepares correspondence and documentation of specific violations and copies to Legal Counsel and affected department.
Researches deeds, car ownerships, tax records or other legal documents in relation to enforcement complaints.
Obtains warrants and appropriate court orders as necessary.

Takes abandoned vehicles into custody and removal from County lands and County right-of-way in accordance with ORS 819.

Assists property owners in the removal of abandoned vehicles located on their property in accordance with ORS 98.

Serves legal papers on behalf of the County.
