Your duties at a glance As an employee working within the Child Welfare Program, you will have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregon’s most vulnerable children and families.

As an IV-E Eligibility Specialist, you will: Gather legal information from families (e.
g.
, Social Security information, birth certificate, naturalization papers, court orders, eligibility packets) to accurately determine Title IV-E eligibility for children placed in resource care in Douglas County.
Complete redeterminations for Title IV-E eligibility and enter updates in OR-Kids.
Review legal documents, contact collateral sources, and research appropriate sources to complete eligibility determinations.
Use OR-Kids to enter eligibility determinations and pull reports to monitor workload.
Provide technical assistance and training to other ODHS eligibility or caseworker staff on the basic use of OR-Kids.
Assist ODHS staff in inputting data into OR-Kids if necessary to ensure accurate and timely Title IV-E reimbursement.
Enter updates and communicate necessary updates to branch staff.
Attend unit or team meetings and maintain and update procedures.
Present OR-Kids trainings/information to staff as requested.
*A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required.
What you need to qualify Two (2) years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data; OR An associate degree in general office occupations and one (1) year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential attributes We are looking for candidates with: The ideal candidate must be a motivated, self-starter with organization and prioritization skills.
Experience working successfully both with a team and independently, while managing your time efficiently.
Experience thinking critically to problem-solve independently or in collaboration with others.
Experience using and communicating clearly and precisely through different tech platforms (examples: Microsoft Teams, email, in person).
Dedication to becoming trauma-informed, anti-racist, and accessible to all regardless of identity status.

Working conditions Your work will be conducted in an office setting.
The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8 a.
m.
– 5:00 p.
m.
For the first 6-12 months of training, you will be required to work in the office.
After the initial training period, there is potential for a hybrid work schedule.
You may have required travel for the purpose of attending trainings.
Your hours of work may fluctuate based on service needs.
Occasional compensated overtime may be required, including evening and weekend work.
You may interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma and exhibit challenges in controlling their emotions.
You may walk into stressful situations that require quick decision-making skills to ensure safety of those being serviced and your own physical safety.
This may also be trauma inducing.
