Community Engagement Manager

*Position Overview:* Artula/Washed Ashore Project is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Community Engagement Manager to lead our outreach initiatives at the southern Oregon coast.
This role involves fostering connections, building partnerships, and driving community involvement to amplify the impact of our art and environmental awareness project addressing marine plastic pollution.
We are looking for a creative, proactive, and socially conscious individual with the ability to effectively communicate our mission, engage diverse stakeholders, and inspire collective action.
*Key Responsibilities:* *Community Outreach and Relationship Building:* * Develop and implement a comprehensive community engagement strategy.
* Build and maintain relationships with local communities, schools, NGOs, businesses, government bodies, tribal agencies, and other stakeholders.
* Identify and leverage opportunities for community involvement and impact.
*Partnership Development:* * Collaborate with organizations, institutions, and influencers to establish partnerships.
* Negotiate and manage partnerships to ensure alignment with project objectives.
*Public Engagement and Education:* * Plan, execute, and measure engaging public events, workshops, and presentations.
* Develop educational materials that effectively communicate the project's message.
*Purchase of Retail Goods:* * Research and source eco-friendly and sustainable retail goods.
* Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers and vendors.
*Retail Inventory Management:* * Manage the retail inventory of merchandise located in the Bandon Fisheries Warehouse.
* Monitor inventory levels, sales trends, and product popularity.
*Volunteer Coordination:* * Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support project initiatives.
* Provide ongoing guidance and support to volunteers, fostering a sense of belonging and commitment.
*Media and Communication:* * Work closely with the communication team to ensure consistent messaging.
* Collaborate on the creation of compelling visual and written content.
*Data Collection and Analysis:* * Gather and analyze data related to community engagement initiatives.
* Use data insights to refine strategies and improve engagement tactics.
*Qualifications:* * Bachelor's degree in environmental science, community development, communications, or a related field.
* 3+ years of proven experience in community engagement, conservation education, or partnership development.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Demonstrated supervisory experience.
* Proficiency in digital tools, social media platforms, and data analysis.
* Passion for environmental sustainability and marine conservation.
